Scooter’s Coffee has appointed property and construction veteran Luc Langevin as Vice President of Development, a role that will see him tasked with leading the coffee chain’s US store expansion.
Scooter’s Coffee, which is seeking to operate 600 stores across 28 states by the end of 2022, said Langevin’s real estate expertise will help accelerate its rapid store expansion, particularly across the eastern US.
The company currently has new stores slated to open in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Langevin has more than 27 years of experience in the areas of real estate, construction and project management. He joins Scooter’s Coffee from North American convenience store operator Couche-Tard, which manages the Circle K network of stores.
He will be responsible for identifying key opportunities in new and existing markets and enhancing Scooter’s Coffee’s real estate support for its franchisees.
“We are excited to welcome Luc to the Scooter’s Coffee family. Luc brings a wealth of knowledge across real estate and construction, in addition to an unparalleled level of energy which is key as we continue executing our aggressive expansion strategy across the US,” said Patrick Coelho, Chief Development Officer, Scooter’s Coffee.
Langevin’s appointment follows that of Coelho and former Starbucks executive Joe Thornton in May and June 2022 respectively. All three employees have been hired to steer Scooter’s Coffee’s growth in the US.
Founded in 1998, Nebraska-based Scooter’s Coffee plans to operate 1,000 locations by 2024.
Earlier this month the company relocated its Omaha headquarters. The new building houses several core departments, including operations, marketing, human resources, finance, IT and legal, which will provide additional support for Scooter’s Coffee’s franchisees across the US.
