Berlin-based specialty coffee chain The Barn will open its first brick-and-mortar store in central Dubai, UAE, on 15 October 2021.
The company will share the location in Al Khazzan Park alongside frozen desert concept, HAPI Dubai.
“The United Arab Emirates is one of our key markets where The Barn is proud to have a fantastic fellowship and brand recognition. Our friends and partners in the region have great taste for quality and design. We love spending time and enjoy our coffees with a growing local community,” said The Barn Founder, Ralf Rüller.
“Our long-term café partnerships with leading coffeeshops, like Brew Café, have set a strong footprint in the region and we are grateful for their ongoing support,” added Rüller.
Since launching in 2010, The Barn has gained significant traction in the German specialty coffee market. The coffee shop operator has also earned a strong international reputation for its uncompromising focus on quality and now operates 11 stores, including a roastery café
in Berlin.
In 2018, The Barn was voted Best Independent Specialty Coffee Shop in Europe, at Allegra’s International Coffee Awards. The following year it received another Allegra award to be named Best Specialty Coffee Roaster in Europe & Middle East.
The UAE is one of the most developed coffee shop markets in the Middle East, with Dubai a popular location for many international food and beverage brands.
In August 2021, organic food and snack distributor Wellness Nutrition Company (WNC) announced it will begin opening brick-and-mortar cafés in Dubai to promote Spanish retail coffee brand, Saula Coffee.
In the same month, UAE-based specialty coffee chain Coffee Planet also opened its first café, in partnership with DASH Hospitality Group, in Dubai.
