Philipp Schulz joins the 274-store coffee chain from Munich-based Italian restaurant group L’Osteria to support its domestic and international expansion plans

Germany’s Coffee Fellows has appointed Philipp Schulz as its new Director of Operations to support outlet growth and optimise current business operations.
The Munich-based coffee chain has opened 17 net new outlets in Germany over the last 12 months to reach 239 stores. It has also been growing its presence in the the US, where it currently operates four stores in Texas.
In a press release, Coffee Fellows highlighted Schulz’s in-depth understanding of the structures and processes of system catering as key to his appointment. He joins from Munich-based Italian restaurant group L’Osteria, where he served as Director of Company Operations. He also has over 18 years’ experience at McDonald’s Deutschland, including nearly a decade as Department Head for Field & Operations.

Founded in 1999 by Kathrin and Stefan Tewes, Coffee Fellows is one of Germany’s largest coffee chains.
The business operates 30 stores across eight European markets alongside a handful of stores in the US, Egypt and Mongolia. The wider Coffee Fellows group also owns 28-store Hamburg-based coffee chain Campus Suite, which trades under its own branding, alongside nine Coffee Fellows Hotels.
