Germany’s Die Lohners has appointed bakery specialist Bernd Kütscher as its new CEO, effective 1 June 2025.
Kütscher will succeed Marc Kranz in the role and joins the Polch-based bakery-café chain from the Federal Academy of the German Bakery Trade, where he has served as Director since 2006. He has also served as Managing Director of the German Bread Institute since 2008 and will step down from both positions in May 2025.

Founded in 1912, Die Lohners is one of the largest bakery-led operators in Germany and currently serves an extensive menu of premium breads, pastries and cakes across its 180 stores.
