Australian coffee franchise Muffin Break has appointed creative agency Jnr as its Lead Creative Partner.

Launched in 1989, Muffin break is part of Sydney-based franchise group FoodCo and currently operates more than 260 stores across Australia, New Zealand and the UK. The coffee chain said partnering with Jnr marks the next phase of its brand journey and will strengthen its appeal among younger consumers.

Jnr specialises in TV and out-of-home advertising, as well as social media and PR communications. The partnership with Muffin Break has already commenced and the first creative campaign is expected to launch summer 2025.

“In the short time that we’ve worked with the Muffin Break team, we’ve been blown away by their deep understanding of the market, the consumer, and their ambition for the brand. We’re very excited about this partnership and thank the team for the faith they’ve put in us,” said John Marshall, Managing Director, Jnr.

The Muffin Break account is one of Jnr’s first major wins since launching in February 2024. The agency’s other clients include the RotoruaNZ tourism board, foodtech start-up Ārepa and outdoor education non-profit Outward Bound.

In August 2023, Sydney-based FoodCo appointed Connecting Plots as its Creative Agency of Record. Connecting Plots will continue to create content marketing and online advertising campaigns for FoodCo’s other café chain, Jamaica Blue
