SSP Group will launch a new café concept in Australia this year as part of a four-unit contract at Perth Airport.

In a press release, the global travel concession operator said its Co & Co (Coffee & Cocktails) concept will open at Perth Airport’s Terminal 1 before the end of 2025, serving locally roasted coffee and a signature cocktail menu, alongside bao buns and sweet treats.

Seeking to evoke an ‘authentic sense of Western Australia’, SSP Group said the store’s added aesthetic reflects the state’s landscape and architecture with the themes of water, earth, sky and trees.

SSP Group will also open bespoke bar and casual dining concept, WA Cellar, Vietnamese street food restaurant Roll’d and sushi chain Sushi Jiro at the travel hub as part of the contract win.

“We’ve been a long-standing partner of Perth Airport for five years and are delighted to continue to serve its passengers through this prestigious contract win. As food travel experts, we have a deep knowledge and understanding of the food and beverage Australian travellers love, and we’re certain that our new dining concepts, with a strong focus on the Australian and Asian cuisines, will be very popular to those flying in and out of Perth,” said Jonathan Robinson, CEO Asia Pacific, SSP Group.

UK-based SSP Group operates 2,900 food and beverage outlets in travel hubs across 38 markets globally.

The travel concession operator has had a presence in Australia since 2009 and has operated at Perth Airport since 2019, when it acquired the food & beverage business of Australian hospitality group Red Rock.

In May 2024, SSP Group further bolstered its presence in Australia by acquiring airport F&B operator Airport Retail Enterprise (ARE) in a deal that added 62 cafés, restaurants and bars to its portfolio. The travel concession operator now operates over 100 units across 11 Australian airports, as well as Sydney’s Central Railway Station.
