Australia’s Zarraffa’s Coffee has announced plans to open 200 new outlets ahead of the 2032 Summer Olympics, which will be held in Brisbane.
Founded in 1996, Zarraffa’s Coffee opened its first drive-thru store in 2009 and currently operates 78 stores across Australia, with a strong presence in Brisbane and Queensland’s wider Gold Coast region. The coffee chain unveiled its first drive-thru only site in Beaudesert, Queensland, in April 2023, which it markets as a nimbler, small-format and lower-cost model for franchisees.
Zarraffa’s Coffee previously outlined a growth target of 130 outlets by 2026, driven the expansion of its drive-thru only store concept which is now also present in the Harristown and Manunda suburbs of Queensland.
Zarraffa’s Coffee opened its first new store of 2025 in North Underwood, Queensland, in February. In a press release, CEO Marnie Sheldon said the drive-thru operator has a strong pipeline of new sites for the year ahead.
“Our focus over this next year remains about growth, not only in footprint by delivering Zarraffa’s to more locations across Australia, but also in enhancing our customer value proposition and experience,” Sheldon said.
Zarraffa’s Coffee supplies coffee to franchisees from a roastery at its headquarters in Eagleby, Queensland. Alongside its growing footprint on Australia’s east coast, Zarraffa’s Coffee has also opened four stores in Perth since debuting in Western Australia in 2012.
