Brazil’s Cerrado Coffee Growers Cooperative (Expocacer) has opened a logistics hub in London as it seeks to strengthen ties with the UK’s fast-growing specialty coffee market.
In a press release, Minas Gerais-based Expocacer said the hub will shorten the chain between producer and consumer, with the cooperative’s full portfolio of premium-quality coffee available for direct purchase. The group forecasts UK sales will increase 15% year-on-year within the next 12 months.
“Coffee is deeply embedded in daily life across the UK, with a growing number of specialty coffee shops in nearly every town and city. Expocacer’s decision to establish a hub in London reinforces a true direct-from-farm model, enabling farmers to sell their products directly to consumers without intermediaries,” said Simão Pedro de Lima, CEO, Expocacer.
Highlighting London’s position as a ‘strategic distribution point’ in Europe, Expocacer also said its new site will enable more efficient delivery of its green coffee across the continent.
The launch of the UK logistics hub comes 12 months after Expocacer opened its first international warehouse in Delaware, USA.
Founded in 1993, Expocacer currently works with 740 producers to export green coffee to more than 35 markets globally.
In January 2025, the specialty coffee cooperative reported 41% year-on-year growth in coffee exports, selling more than 550,000 60kg bags of coffee internationally last year at a value of approximately $165m.
