Spanish bakery-café chain Granier has outlined plans to nearly double its international footprint by the end of 2025.
Granier opened its first outlet in Barcelona in 2010 and made its international debut in Miami, US, three years later. Popular for its wide range of artisanal bread, savoury pastries and premium coffee menu, the bakery-café chain currently operates 270 venues in Spain and a further 56 across seven international markets.
Granier’s Director of Brand Expansion Michel Conde told Spanish press that the bakery-café chain will focus on increasing its presence in international markets where it already operates, particularly Venezuela, where it has opened 31 stores since debuting in 2019, and the UK, where it seeking to scale from two to 15 sites by 2026.
Granier is also exploring franchise opportunities in the Middle East and Africa, with Paraguay and Italy also identified as markets of interest.
“Entering the international market has been one of the most important and satisfying challenges. Our international audience has a medium-high purchasing power, which allows us to strengthen the brand in each new market we reach,” said Michel Conde, Director of Brand Expansion, Granier.
In addition to Spain, Venezuela and the UK, Granier also operates stores in the US, the Dominican Republic, Andorra, Costa Rica, Mexico and Panama.
Granier expects to achieve 5% year-on-year revenue growth in 2024 to reach approximately €50m ($55.5m).
