US donut and coffee chain Krispy Kreme has signed a franchise agreement with restaurant group ISH Foods to open stores in Germany.

In a press release, Krispy Kreme said it will establish a network of retail outlets in Germany from early 2025, starting in Berlin.

“We are excited to expand into Germany as it has been a priority market for us, offering substantial growth with more than 3,000 points of access,” said Raphael Duvivier, Chief Development Officer, Krispy Kreme.

Europe is key to Krispy Kreme’s global growth ambitions as it seeks to enter five new markets this year and build upon launches in Switzerland and France in the second half of 2023.

Krispy Kreme’s European presence comprises more than 200 retail outlets across the UK, Ireland, Turkey, Switzerland and France. Globally, the donut and coffee chain has over 2,160 stores and more than 14,100 global points of access – retail channels where its products can be purchased – across 39 markets.

ISH Foods currently operates 300 licensed KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell stores across Germany. The business is a subsidiary of IS Holdings which franchises Krispy Kreme in Turkey.
