Geislingen-based WMF has named three-time German Latte Art Championships winner Daniel Gerlach as its new Brand Ambassador.
Gerlach currently owns Seven Hills Coffee Roasters – a coffee roastery, café and barista training school in Bamberg, Germany.
Coffee machine manufacturer WMF said Gerlach is ‘one of the stars of the international barista scene’ and cited his passion for craftsmanship and coffee business insight as key attributes behind his appointment.
As Brand Ambassador, Gerlach will primarily promote the WMF espresso Next coffee machine – a semi-automatic portafilter machine designed for venues with an average daily output of 300 cups. Gerlach will also support WMF as a barista consultant, providing insights on the latest coffee trends and opportunities for developing new professional coffee machines.
“Combining traditional portafilter technology with the advantages of automation is the perfect solution. The WMF espresso NEXT supports baristas over the entire brewing process,” said Gerlach.
Gerlach began representing WMF at the recent Internorga 2024 trade fair event in Hamburg from 8-12 March 2024.
Founded in 1853 as a household metalware business, WMF began producing commercial coffee machines in 1955. The company was acquired by French appliance maker Groupe SEB for €1.5bn in 2016. Alongside WMF, Groupe SEB also manufactures the Schaerer, Wilbur Curtis and La San Marco coffee machine brands.
