Löfbergs expands coffee partnership with major Nordics hotel group

Löfbergs has signed a new two-year agreement with Oslo-based hotel group Strawberry to supply 240 venues across the Nordics. 
 

Strawberry, formerly known as Nordic Choice, first became a Löfbergs wholesale client over 20 years ago. The group serves Löfbergs’ organic and Fairtrade-certified coffee across its hotels in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, as well as at its on-site meeting and conference facilities. 

Strawberry hotels serve more than 2,900 cups of Löfbergs coffee every hour, the hotel group’s website states. 

In a press release, Löfbergs and Strawberry highlighted sustainability as key to their partnership, with Karlstad-based Löfbergs providing a sustainability receipt highlighting the environmental and social contribution Strawberry’s coffee purchases make. 
 

“We are very happy and proud that the long-standing partnership with Strawberry continues. By serving sustainably certified coffee, Strawberry and their guests contribute to coffee farmers increasing their income by €310,000 per year. Additionally, they help convert an area equivalent to 460 football fields to organic production, without artificial fertilisers and pesticides,” said Löfbergs CEO Anders Fredriksson. 

Strawberry’s hotel portfolio includes the Comfort Hotel, Quality Hotel, Clarion Hotel and Clarion Collection Hotel chains, as well as over 40 independent sites. 

Founded in 1906, Löfbergs is one of the largest family-owned coffee roasters in the Nordics and one of the world’s largest purchasers of organic and Fairtrade-labelled coffee, producing 12 million cups of coffee per day via its Löfbergs, Peter Larsen Kaffe and Kobbs brands.
