Costa Coffee has appointed long-serving executive Tom Edgar as Managing Director for APAC, responsible for the coffee chain’s six markets across the Asia Pacific (APAC) and South Asia regions.
Edgar began his career with Costa Coffee as an Area Manager in October 1998 and has held several regional leadership roles at the UK-based coffee chain, including Head of Franchise India and General Manager for Europe, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
He was appointed Global Retail & Franchise Director in November 2023 – a role he will hold alongside leading Costa Coffee’s APAC operations.
Costa Coffee launched in the APAC region in 2006 with a store in Shanghai, China – a market where it now operates more than 460 outlets. The coffee chain has opened 15 stores in Malaysia since debuting in the country in 2019 and currently operates eight outlets in Japan in partnership with licensee Sojitz Royal Café.
The Coca-Cola-owned coffee chain’s South Asia presence comprises 192 stores in India, which are managed by franchise partner Devyani International Limited, alongside three sites in each of Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
