La Marzocco’s Accademia del Caffè Espresso is inviting coffee industry professionals to the European film premiere of The Rise of Espresso.
The exclusive screening takes place at the European Coffee Symposium + COHO on 13 November in Berlin.
Directed by Enrico Ventrice and produced by Accademia del Caffè Espresso – the cultural, research and innovation hub of iconic Italian espresso machine manufacturer La Marzocco –The Rise of Espresso is a ground-breaking documentary exploring the transformation of espresso from Italian tradition to global cultural phenomenon.
Featuring 30 stories from key figures around the world, the film charts the dreams, challenges and triumphs of those who have dedicated their lives to espresso craft and culture.
The Rise of Espresso seeks to raise awareness and appreciation for quality coffee while exploring the fascinating history of the industry and its ongoing pursuit of innovation.
“The Rise of Espresso is a collection and reconstruction of personal stories of those who decided to leave their country in search of fortune. Discover the stories of those who have found a new chapter in their lives and professional careers in coffee, crops and machines,” said La Marzocco CEO Guido Bernardinelli.
“I was approached to make a documentary about espresso culture, which has spread around the world thanks to Italian migrants, I was very excited. At that time I was writing a documentary about my grandfather, a migrant himself and a barista for 40 years, in love with his work and especially with his espresso machine,” said the film’s Director, Enrico Ventrice.
