Huggs Coffee CEO Ron Choo has launched a new boutique coffee shop concept, Sojourner, in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District.

Choo, alongside Huggs Coffee Director Clarissa Choo and Brand Manager Ayden Ong, unveiled Sojourner on 13 June 2024. In a press release, the trio described the concept as a “5th Wave” coffee shop focused on exploring the ‘tastes and sensory delights’ of artisanal coffee and tea.

The outlet features an integrated Modbar Espresso AV machine and a standalone Modbar Pour Over System for both automated and manual beverage preparation.

“At Sojourner, we believe that every sip journals your thoughts. With our carefully curated selection of artisanal coffee blends and exquisite teas, we invite guests to embark on a journey of exploration of the mind and of the palette, where every sip is a moment of reflection and revelation,” said Ron Choo.

Sojourner adds to Singapore’s specialty coffee scene which includes domestic branded chains Jewel Coffee, Craftsmen Specialty Coffee and Common Man Coffee Roasters.

World Coffee Portal’s Project Café East Asia 2024 report shows the total Singaporean branded coffee shop market comprises more than 870 outlets – making it the 10th largest in East Asia. Founded in 2008, Huggs Coffee currently has 20 outlets across the city state.
