Fast-growing Malaysian coffee chain ZUS Coffee will debut in Singapore before the end of the 2024 with a store in Changi Airport’s Terminal 4.
Founded in 2019, ZUS Coffee currently operates 550 outlets in Malaysia and a further 46 across the Philippines – currently its sole international market. The Selangor-based chain’s first Singaporean store will join Starbucks, Paris Baguette and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at Changi Airport’s fourth terminal.
With growing out-of-home coffee consumption, high per capita income and business-friendly tax regimes, Singapore has become an attractive market for international coffee chains over the last 12 months – particularly Southeast Asian operators seeking wider regional expansion.
Indonesian operators Kopi Kenangan, Fore Coffee and Tomoro Coffee have all launched in the wealthy city-state over the last 12 months, as have Taiwan’s Louisa Coffee, South Korea’s Compose Coffee and China’s Greybox Coffee.
World Coffee Portal’s Project Café East Asia 2024 report forecasts the total Singaporean branded coffee shop market will reach 1,250 outlets by 2029.
