UK airline British Airways is now serving coffee from specialty roaster Grind on all European flights from Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
London-based Grind has created three blends – flat white, long black and decaf black – exclusively for British Airways’ onboard High Life Café offer. Its ready-to-drink (RTD) Iced Caramel Latte will also be available to purchase in-flight.
Grind said the beverages – priced at £3.25 ($4.22) – have been developed by Grind’s Head Roaster Howard Gill, who carried out coffee tasting onboard a British Airway flight to create ‘a coffee range that tastes great even at 35,000ft’.
“Taking Grind into the sky with British Airways is an incredible opportunity for us to showcase our coffee internationally. As a company born in London, to partner with such an iconic British brand is an amazing step in our journey, and we can’t wait to see it on board,” said David Abrahamovitch, CEO, Grind.
Founded in 2011, Grind operates 14 stores across London alongside an established retail packaged coffee and capsule business, catering to wholesale and direct-to-consumer (DTC) trade.
British Airways also has a long-standing partnership with UK specialty coffee roaster Union Hand Roasted Coffee, which is served as part of its complimentary offering. The London-based business currently flies to 115 airports across Europe and is the second largest UK-based carrier, based on fleet size and passengers carried, behind low-cost airline easyJet.
In June 2024, easyJet announced that it will begin serving hot Costa Coffee beverages on all flights from late summer 2024.
