Danish entrepreneur Jens Alminde has made a ‘significant’ investment in Copenhagen-based RTD coffee brand BOLD to support its international growth ambitions.
Alminde, who founded Danish financial media group Euroinvestor, made the undisclosed investment in BOLD via his venture capital firm COWS. He will also provide business development and commercial strategy support to the RTD brand as it prepares for further expansion in Nordic markets this year.
“In just a few years, BOLD has established itself in Denmark in a tough industry. The decisive factor was the growth momentum that is happening outside the country’s borders, which represents enormous potential for the future. This shows that BOLD is not just a Danish phenomenon. With the right support and strategy, I firmly believe that BOLD Drinks can become a leading player, not just in the Nordics, but globally,” said Alminde.
Founded in 2019, BOLD’s coffee-based energy beverages are currently sold online and in more than 4,000 convenience stores in Denmark. In January 2023 the brand signed its first international distribution agreement with Sweden’s convenience stores Pressbyrån and 7-Eleven.
