Italy’s Simonelli Group has become a shareholder in Swedish filter coffee machine company 3TEMP.

In a press release, Arvika-based 3TEMP said the investment will accelerate growth in international markets, while enabling Simonelli Group to broaden its product portfolio with premium drip coffee machines.

“We are extremely excited to enter into this partnership with Simonelli Group. Their ability to scale innovative solutions globally allows us to continue focusing on what we do best – creating world-class coffee machines. We now look forward to a shared journey based on our mutual passion for exceptional coffee and sustainability,” said Anders Eriksson, CEO, 3TEMP.

3TEMP’s filter coffee machines feature a tankless brewing system, which minimises energy loss between brews and ensures every cup is prepared with fresh water. The premium brewers are also IoT-enabled for remote programming and maintainence, with the PULS, WALL and COBRA coffee machines primarily marketed for professional coffee bars serving both hot and cold beverages.

Simonelli Group, which produces professional coffee machines and grinders under the Nuova Simonelli and Victoria Arduino brands, said the deal strengthens its position in the global specialty coffee market and will enable it to meet growing demand for customised coffee solutions.

“Our ambition has always been to find a partner who shares our vision of quality and innovation. When we first met the team at 3TEMP, we were impressed by their uncompromising commitment to delivering perfect coffee experiences. Together, we can now meet the market’s demands and offer something truly unique to coffee lovers around the world,” said Marco Feliziani, CEO, Simonelli Group.

Founded in 1936, Simonelli Group reported €109m ($114.7m) sales in 2023. The Italian coffee machine group exports approximately 95% of its production to more than 130 international markets, utilising a network of sales branches in Australia, China, France, Germany, Singapore, the UAE, the UK and the US.
