Joe & The Juice has exited the Australian market to better focus on its core business in Europe and the US.
The Danish coffee and juice chain entered Australia in November 2016 with a store at Sydney Airport, before opening further outlets across New South Wales.
A spokesperson for the brand told World Coffee Portal that ‘pulling out of Sydney was a strategic decision’ which supports its current growth strategy.
In June 2023, Joe & The Juice said 95% of its stores were currently contributing positively to its operations and that it would focus on exploiting ‘the great potential’ within its key markets to strengthen group level profitability.
The coffee and juice chain currently operates nearly 350 stores across 16 markets, including 71 in Denmark, 68 in the UK and 63 in the US. Alongside Europe and the US, Joe & The Juice will also focus on its franchise partnerships, which includes stores in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
