Nespresso has launched a new ‘Nespresso to go’ concept at its Gran Vía boutique store in Madrid, Spain.
The Gran Vía outlet, opened in 2022, is one of 65 boutique outlets Nespresso currently operates across Spain and the first to cater to on-the-go customers. Dubbed the ‘Spanish Broadway’ Gran Vía, is one of Madrid’s busiest shopping areas and renowned for its nightlife.
Brigitte Felber, General Director of Nespresso Spain, said the on-the-go store represents a ‘strategic step’ in the brand’s evolution in Spain, which is increasingly focused on consumer convenience.
The take-away service complements Nespresso’s in-store pick-up service through which customers can order coffee products for collection via the company’s app and Nespresso Easy Order, a subscription-based delivery scheme.
Spain is the eighth largest branded coffee shop market in Europe by outlets, with more than 1,400 stores.
The market has a strong convenience segment with domestic brands GoodNews, Syra Coffee, Nomad Coffee and East Crema Coffee, as well as international chains The Coffee and The Miners, all operating take-away-focused stores.
Nespresso launched its first take-away coffee offer at stores in Cannes, France, and New York, US, in 2017. The brand currently has a global retail network of more than 800 boutique stores.
