Dubai-based Coffee Planet has made two senior leadership appointments as it seeks to build on strong business growth this year.
The specialty coffee roaster and café chain has appointed Matthew Yorke Smith as Chief Operating Officer, with current Non-Executive Director Rob Saunders assuming the Chief Financial Officer role.
Yorke Smith founded Coffee Planet in January 2005 and has held the role of Director of Operations for the last 18 years.
In a press release, Coffee Planet said the appointments come as the brand is set to surpass its record-breaking 2022 commercial performance this year following significant investment in its wholesale and direct to consumer channels.
Coffee Planet has extensive retail distribution across 14 markets, with the brand’s coffee served at leading hotels, airlines, offices and restaurants, as well as in more than 700 supermarket stores.
In May 2023, Coffee Planet unveiled a new brand identity, updated packaging and ready-to-drink (RTD) product line to reinforce its position as one of the leading specialty coffee roasters in the Middle East.
