Restaurant Brands International (RBI) has announced Katerina Glyptis as the new President of Tim Hortons US.
In a press release, RBI said Glyptis would work to ‘accelerate growth and development of the brand’ in the US market.
Glyptis has worked for RBI for nine years, holding senior roles in restaurant development and franchise performance including General Manager of Burger King’s Central Division and most recently Vice President of Franchise Operations for 7,200 Burger King restaurants in the US and Canada.
In her new role, she will report to Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons Canada and the US.
“We have a strong base for our business in the US with over 600 restaurants and we believe our home market and international experience now positions us to meaningfully accelerate our Tim Hortons US business,” said Schwan.
"Over the last nine years, I have had the benefit of working with and knowing Katerina in different roles with RBI’s brands and have always been so impressed by her drive to grow the business, her business instincts, and the exceptional relationships she builds with franchisees and her teams.”
Tim Hortons’ recent
development in the US market has focused on the roll-out of its ‘next generation’ restaurants, a compact 1,600sq ft store format designed for both sit-in trade and mobile ordering, alongside a new drive-thru-only format.
