Switzerland’s Eversys has opened a new regional office in Singapore to grow its presence in the Southeast Asian, South Korean and Japanese markets.
The Sierre-based company said its business in the vast Asia Pacific (APAC) region grew 150% over the last few months, led by several of its global clients expanding in the area.
In a press release, Eversys said its new Singapore office would cater to increased demand for super-automatic coffee machines across Southeast Asia, South Korea and Japan, where many coffee and hospitality businesses are rapidly expanding.
World Coffee Portal research forecasts strong outlet growth across most Southeast Asian branded coffee shop markets over the next few years, with Indonesia and Cambodia expected to achieve double digit growth outlet growth.
The new office will also enable Eversys to better serve customers in South Korea and Japan.
World Coffee Portal predicts the branded coffee shop market in South Korea to exceed 30,600 outlets by 2025, while Japan is expected to reach 9,180.
Eversys’ existing Shanghai office, which opened in 2022, will continue to serve the Chinese market, including Hong Kong and Taiwan.
“The premises in Singapore allow us to expand our presence close to some of the region's most rapidly developing coffee markets. We are happy to make this step and grow our focus on the APAC region,” said Christian Haueter, Commercial Director, Eversys.
The Marina Bay Area office is located within DeLonghi’s existing premises. The Italian appliance manufacturer acquired Eversys for $164m in May 2021.
Eversys has also announced Fabian Fredriksson as its new Regional Director for Asia Pacific.
“It is with great honour that I now take on the role of Regional Director APAC for Eversys. I am thrilled to be joining the team and to have the opportunity to be a part of shaping the future of coffee in the APAC region,” Fredriksson said.
In December 2022 Eversys opened a regional office in Dubai, UAE, to boost engagement with its customers across the Middle East, India and North Africa (MEIA) region.
The company, which is partnering with US coffee chain Starbucks to manufacture a new automated cold brew coffee machine, expects year-on-year sales growth of over 50% for 2022, exceeding CHF 100m ($108m) turnover for the first time.
