UK food-to-go and coffee chain Greggs has reached 500 franchised stores across the UK with a petrol station outlet in East Lothian, Scotland.
The store is operated by forecourt operator Motor Fuel Group (MFG), which manages a total of 84 Greggs outlets nationwide.
Greggs currently has 16 franchise partners across the UK, with franchised outlets comprising approximately 20% of the company’s 2,450-store estate.
“Just one year since we marked our 400th franchise, we’re now delighted to open our 500th. As we round off 2023, we’re pleased to be well on track to meet our ambitious shop expansion targets for the year ahead,” said Malcolm Copland, Commercial Director, Greggs.
Greggs opened 82 net new stores in the nine months ended 30 September 2023 as part of plans to add 150 net new stores to its estate this year. The value-focused operator has a long-term goal to reach 3,000 outlets across the UK.
