SSP Group has appointed Bente Brevik to the newly created role of Nordics CEO.

The global travel concession operator manages approximately 250 outlets across Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, including units of Scandinavian coffee chains Cornelius Coffee, Fika and Kaffet.

Brevik joined SSP Group in February 2018 as Managing Director Norway and is credited with the roll-out of convenience concept Point in Norway, which sells travel essentials alongside coffee and other food and beverages.

She also oversaw SSP Group’s entry into the Icelandic market in December 2022 with two units at Keflavik International Airport in Reykjavik.

“The appointment of a Nordics CEO reflects the scale of our European business, which has seen a strong recovery since the pandemic. With new categories, locations and countries opening up across the region in 2024 and an exciting pipeline, the appointment of Bente as Nordics CEO will allow us to strengthen our operations and be a more efficient organisation,” said Jeremy Fennell, CEO, SSP Europe.

In May 2022, SSP Group reported revenues in Continental Europe reached 116% of 2019 levels during the six months ended 31 March 2023, driven by strong air travel.

Total revenues grew 64% year-on-year to £1.3bn ($1.6bn) during the period.
