UK-based boutique hospitality group Grind is building on its partnership with Soho House with the launch of its first store in the US.
The coffee shop and bar, Grind's first international location, is located within Soho Home’s new studio location on Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles.
Grind announced international expansion plans last year with a particular focus on the US. The new Los Angeles location adds to the group’s nine locations and three mobile carts in London, UK.
The group has had a presence in the US since 2020 via an international partnership with Soho House, founded by restaurateur Nick Jones.
Grind is the group’s exclusive coffee supplier and produces bespoke Grind x Soho House coffee blends which are served across Soho House’s private members clubs, hotels and restaurants in the UK and households globally.
“We’re super excited to build on our existing global partnership with Soho House to open our first US location, inside Soho Home’s new studio location on Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles. It’s been amazing to serve our coffee to all Soho House members over the last two years and this new store is just another way we continue to build on that partnership,” said David Abrahamovitch, Founder & CEO, Grind.
In August 2021 Grind raised £22m ($30m) to facilitate new store openings in the US and grow its at-home coffee business. The company has scaled its branded at-home coffee offer in recent years, accelerating its direct-to-consumer retail packaged coffee business and forming a retail partnership with UK supermarket chain Sainsbury’s.
