Airport food-service company HMSHost International is opening two Copenhagen Coffee Lab outlets in Copenhagen Airport in June.
The Copenhagen-based coffee roastery, café and bakery chain has a strong presence in Europe, with more than 30 cafés across Denmark, Germany, France and Portugal. The two new outlets mark the Danish chain’s first operations in a major transport hub.
Copenhagen Airport, the busiest in Scandinavia, already hosts five Joe & The Juice stores and three Espresso House outlets.
Alongside the addition of two Copenhagen Coffee Lab stores in the airport in June, HMHost International has also renewed a contract for Danish healthy, fast food brand SMAG, with the three contracts valued at more than €35m until expiry in 2029.
“The strategic partnership with HMSHost is important to us at Copenhagen Airport, as we always strive to bring innovative offerings to our customers. We aim to meet the demands of our customers in the best way and thus for us to be able to provide the highest level of healthy convenience food and beverages is key. We are happy to introduce SMAG and Copenhagen Coffee Lab who are both local Danish signature brands that matches our Local Hero mindset,” said Michael Clausen, Copenhagen Airport’s Director Airport Sales.
The new contract win and extensions expand the total HMHost International footprint in Denmark to five stores. The company operates brands, including partnership outlets of Starbucks and Leon, in more than 120 airports around the globe.
