Löfbergs Baltic has been announced as a main coffee partner for the Zalgirio Arena in Kaunas, Lithuania.
Zalgirio Arena is the largest indoor sport and entertainment venue in the Baltic countries, comprising Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The arena is home to the basketball team BC Zalgiris Kaunas and also hosts concerts.
The arena's maximum possible seating capacity for basketball games is 15,450, rising to 20,000 for concerts.
The agreement will see Löfbergs coffee products sold throughout the arena, including in conference halls, VIP lodges, bars, restaurants, the Zalgiris head office and the Zalgiris basketball team training centre.
The Zalgirio Arena partnership follows a similar agreement with Finland’s Nokia Arena. Both hot and cold Löfbergs coffee products are sold at the Tampere location which opened in late 2021. The Nokia Arena hosted the 2022 Ice Hockey Worlds Championships.
Founded in 1906, Swedish coffee roaster Löfbergs is one of the world’s largest purchasers of organic and Fairtrade-labelled coffee. The company operates across 10 markets in Northern Europe and Canada.
In May 2022 Löfbergs announced it would be seeking new business opportunities in eastern European markets after finding success in Baltics. The company said the Baltic region currently accounts for 17% of total company sales.
