Oatly has announced a partnership with convenience store giant Circle K to make Oatly Barista Edition the exclusive non-dairy coffee pairing across its 264 sites in Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.

In a press release, Oatly and Circle K said providing a ‘delicious and sustainable’ plant-based coffee option is necessary to meet the evolving preferences of customers in the Baltics.

“At Oatly, we want to make it easy for people to swap dairy for plant-based in their diets. To achieve this, its integral that we are constantly diversifying where oat milk is available and consumed. Our latest partnership with Circle K will help to drive this goal, making our product easily available for consumers across Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia,” said Jens Sinteus, Regional Manager, International Markets, Oatly.

Malmö-based Oatly has signed multiple retail agreements over the last two years in a bid to increase its share of the European plant-based dairy market. Alongside supply deals with large European branded coffee chains Tchibo, Espresso House and Coffee Fellows, Oatly also supplies the Pressbyrån and 7-Eleven convenience store chains in Sweden, German national rail operator Deutsche Bahn and petrol station network Aral, as well as Switzerland’s largest airline SWISS

Circle K is owned by Canadian convenience store giant Alimentation Couche-Tard, which operates the brand across more than 20 markets globally. The convenience store chain has had a presence in the Baltics since 2012 when it acquired Norway-based Statoil Fuel and Retail ASA for $2.8bn. Couche-Tard consolidated Statoil under its Circle K banner in 2016.
