Colombian specialty coffee chain Café Quindío has opened its first international store in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
Founded in 1992, Café Quindío currently operates 25 outlets across Colombia.
The company has a packaged retail coffee distribution reach across 10 global markets, including Saudi Arabia, France, the UK and the US, where it has an office in Weston, Florida.
The Al Khobar opening is Café Quindío’s first international café.
Saudi Arabia is the largest branded coffee shop market in the Middle East at over 3,550 outlets. World Coffee Portal projects the market will reach 5,350 outlets by 2027.
Café Quindío’s Saudi Arabia debut follows the international market expansion of fellow Colombian coffee chain Juan Valdez. Since January 2022 Juan Valdez has opened new stores in Argentina, the Netherlands, Qatar and Turkey, where it plans to operate eight stores by the end of this year.
