Dubai-based specialty coffee chain, roaster and retailer Coffee Planet has confirmed further expansion plans for the UK as it targets emerging markets outside of the UAE.
Coffee Planet entered the UK market in 2018 with a store in Cardiff City Centre. The company told World Coffee Portal that it is in talks with several interested investors for the UK market that is likely to result in a 10-store development plan.
Additionally, the specialty coffee chain said units on the Transport for Wales rail network are being targeted and it will explore retail and foodservice distribution opportunities in the UK in the near future.
The growth plan follows a new outlet launch in partnership with existing UAE franchiser DASH Hospitality in Dubai Hills Mall, the largest Coffee Planet site to date.
Coffee Planet, which also operates outlets in Pakistan, will open in Saudi Arabia before the end of 2022 and is also slated to launch six stores in Egypt, although import issues have hindered its growth in the country.
Coffee Planet appointed Jamie Brown as Managing Director in June 2022, with the company targeting ‘ambitious growth plans’ under his leadership.
