The acquisition gives Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group access to Café Pacaembu’s ground coffee and single serve production plant as well as the Sao-Paulo-based company's significant brand penetration among Brazillian consumers. In a press statement, Massimo Zanetti Group said its Brazilian revenues would be approximately 130 million Reais in 2019 following the acquisition.

“Brazil is an interesting market: it is the world’s largest producer and exporter of coffee and the second largest consumer market in the world, with high growth rates. The acquisition of Café Pacaembu which, with over 60 years of history, represents the traditional coffee of Brazil, will allow our Group to seize growth opportunities in Brazil,” said Group Chairman and CEO, Massimo Zanetti.

Founded in 1973 Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group has annual revenues of around $1.2bn and owns major coffee brands including Segafredo and MJB, which are distributed in around 110 markets worldwide alongside a network of 400 coffee shops in 50 countries.
