Turkey’s Spada Roastery unveils new 5,300sq ft facility to meet growing wholesale demand

The specialty coffee roaster’s new Istanbul production site has capacity to roast 40 tons of coffee per month and will enable the business to scale its wholesale reach in Europe

Istanbul-based specialty coffee roaster Spada Roastery has unveiled a new 5,300sq ft roastery equipped with a training centre, cupping room and coffee bar. 
 

Founded as a coffee shop in 2016, Spada Roastery began roasting coffee the following year and now operates three outlets alongside its roastery.  


The new site in Istanbul has the capacity to roast 40 tons of coffee per month to supply around 50 coffee shops. Spada Roastery also supplies specialty coffee to prominent European workplace clients, including the headquarters of fashion group Inditex, payment technology giant MasterCard and engineering and household appliance manufacturer Bosch, via its wholesale channel. 


“I think we have brought a stylish, qualified and functional facility to Istanbul and Turkey in the specialty coffee industry,” said Cumhur Kılıç, Founder, Spada Coffee.

World Coffee Portal research shows Turkey’s branded coffee shop market has achieved three consecutive years of outlet growth and now exceeds 3,100 stores, making the fifth largest branded coffee shop market in Europe. 
 

Spada Roastery currently sources coffee from nine countries in Latin America and East Asia.
