Turkish coffee roaster and café chain Espressolab has promoted Ersin Kefeli to Chief Marketing Officer.

Kefeli joined Istanbul-based Espressolab in January 2016 as Marketing & Corporate Communications Manager and will now oversee all marketing, communications, customer relationship management and e-commerce operations for the 315-store business.

“It makes me proud to be a part of the Espressolab family. I believe that we will achieve many more successes together by focusing on innovative marketing strategies that meet the expectations of consumers,” Kefeli said.

Founded in 2014 with a store at Istanbul Bilgi University, Espressolab opened 105 net new outlets in 2024 and has a presence across 13 markets globally. It is the third largest branded coffee shop chain in Turkey with 204 stores, behind US coffee giant Starbucks and domestic operator Kahve Dünyasi, which operate 722 and 281 outlets in the country respectively.

Espressolab has more than 90 stores in its pipeline and is seeking to reach 400 outlets globally by the end of 2025. Alongside further domestic expansion, the coffee roaster and café chain also has stores in development in Egypt, Morocco, the UAE and Germany. Espressolab is also in franchise negotiations to enter the US and Russia.

In October 2022, Espressolab opened a new 64,500sq ft roastery in Istanbul and said its increased roasting capacity would enable it to pursue a longer-term target of reaching 500 stores.
