US specialty coffee roaster and retailer Futura Coffee Roasters has acquired Oregon-based Bespoken Coffee Roasters and its two Tried & True Coffee stores in Corvallis.
Futura Coffee Roasters, which operates three outlets in Portland, Oregon, and a single site in Amherst, Massachusetts, will rebrand the Tried & True locations to Futura Coffee Roasters. However, small batch coffee roaster Bespoken will retain its name and branding.
The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
“We are excited to join the Corvallis community and build on the values of Tried and True. Our mission to support small-scale farmers in their transition to regenerative agriculture aligns perfectly with the values of Corvallis,” Futura Coffee Roasters co-owners Sebastian Villamizar and CJ Speelman said in a joint statement.
Futura Coffee Roasters opened its first store in February 2022 and campaigns to improve soil quality through regenerative agriculture in both coffee producing and consuming countries. The business pledges 3% of daily sales to its Soil Regeneration Fund, which supports regenerative agriculture practices in Colombia, Ethiopia and Panama, as well as soil regeneration projects with farmers in Oregon, USA.
