Nebraska-based Scooter’s Coffee has appointed restaurant industry veteran John Owen as Chief Operating Officer.
In a press release, the 750-store drive-thru coffee chain said Owen will advance its strategic sales and service goals, working with franchisees to expand capacity and lead significant sales growth.

Owen has more than 30 years’ restaurant industry experience, holding senior roles including Vice President of Strategy and Execution at McDonald’s and President and CEO of Subway Russia.
He is the third senior appointment for Scooter’s Coffee in 2024, following Nick Jarecke as Chief Supply Chain Officer and Susan Tegt as Chief Legal Officer. The drive-thru coffee chain is seeking to open 250 stores this year to reach 1,000 sites by the end of the year.
