Australian appliance manufacturer Breville Group has credited home coffee machine sales as the leading contributor to its record annual revenues.

The New South Wales-based business – which trades as Sage in Europe – achieved 3.5% year-on-year sales growth in the 12 months ending 30 June 2024 to reach AU$1.5bn ($1bn), led by robust trading in key Americas and EMEA markets in the second half of its fiscal year.

Breville posted double-digit coffee machine sales growth during the period, with the Americas, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea cited as key performing markets for the category. Strong coffee machine sales also helped offset falling revenues in Breville’s Cooking and Food Prep segments.

“A solid year of performance with a marked strengthening in the second half. Overall, the strength of our new product launches, expansion of new markets and the continuing coffee tailwind supported top line growth as cost-of-living pressures and mean reversion weighed on the business,” said Jim Clayton, CEO, Breville Group.

Founded in 1932, Breville manufactures a range of home coffee machines, including the Oracle, Barista Touch and Bambino models, alongside Baratza coffee grinders – a US business it acquired for $60m in October 2020.
