Grind founder David Abrahamovitch said the partnership marks an ‘exciting step’ for the business as it seeks to grow its packaged coffee, coffee pod and ready-to-drink (RTD) iced coffee products at more UK supermarkets

UK specialty coffee roaster Grind has bolstered its retail reach via a new distribution agreement with supermarket giant Tesco.
Tesco, which operates 2,895 supermarkets across the UK, began stocking Grind’s packaged wholebean and ground coffee, pods and ready-to-drink (RTD) cans on 17 April 2024. The partnership forms part of Tesco’s Accelerator Programme, launched in February 2024 to help ‘exciting and innovative’ UK brands reach new audiences in the UK retail segment.
The announcement follows Grind’s March 2023 £15m ($17.1m) investment round which it said would facilitate the launch of its packaged coffee, coffee pods and ready-to-drink (RTD) iced coffee cans in more UK supermarkets. The brand already has retail listings at premium supermarkets Waitrose and Selfridges, as well as Co-op, online grocer Ocado and fashion brand Anthropologie.
“This partnership with Tesco marks a really exciting step in Grind’s journey. To have the support of such a massive retailer in the UK is huge for us and we can’t wait to see our range in store and get our specialty coffee into more hands and more homes,” said David Abrahamovitch, CEO and founder, Grind.
Tesco also stocks Jimmy’s Iced Coffee RTD products, and branded coffee products from Starbucks, Costa Coffee, Lavazza and Nescafé.
Founded in 2011, Grind has developed from a specialty coffee roaster to a boutique coffee shop, bar and casual dining group with 11 stores across London. The business, which also operates wholesale, e-commerce and online subscription channels, achieved B Corp certification in April 2024.
