UK specialty coffee roaster and café group WatchHouse is set to make its international debut with a store in New York. Scheduled to open at 660 5th Avenue in early December, a second US outlet will follow in February 2024, WatchHouse has confirmed.
WatchHouse has been preparing for a US launch for over 12 months and in September 2022
raised over £4.5m ($5.1m) via crowdfunding platform Crowdcube to facilitate its plans.
In July 2023 WatchHouse appointed former Boston Tea Party CFO,
Julie Centracchio as its new Finance Director, a role the specialty coffee group said would be ‘key’ to its UK and international expansion.

The announcement comes as WatchHouse unveiled its 14th UK location – a store in London’s upmarket Belsize Park.
‘The menu will feature a delightful combination of specialty WatchHouse bakes and an exceptional Modern Coffee offering, all prepared on-site… Expect wood panelling, bistro tables, a charming terrace, and excellent service, all reminiscent of a Viennese coffee house,’ WatchHouse wrote in a press release.
