Bacha Coffee will open its first store in Malaysia in July 2023 as part of the Moroccan café chain’s southeast Asian expansion strategy.

Founded in Marrakesh in 1910, Bacha Coffee operates single boutique stores in Morocco and France alongside nine outlets in Singapore.

Bacha Coffee CEO Taha Bouqdib said its Malaysian debut at the Suria KLCC shopping centre in Kuala Lumpur will cater to ‘strong demand for quality, premium coffee’ among the southeast Asian country's ‘increasingly sophisticated customers’.

Speaking to Lifestyle Asia, Bouqdib said Bacha Coffee plans to open a second store in Malaysia before the end of 2023 and establish an e-commerce channel in the country to strengthen its retail presence.

The Suria KLCC outlet, spanning 7,000sq ft, will house an ‘immersive retail space’ showcasing a wide range of arabica coffees, alongside Bacha Coffee’s trademark coffee gift boxes.
