Small Batch Coffee Roasters has announced two senior leadership appointments to help drive its new strategic focus on wholesale operations and online coffee subscribers.
The Brighton-based coffee roaster has appointed Colin Morrison as Roastery Managing Director.
Morrison joins from Glasgow-based coffee roaster Matthew Algie where he served as Marketing Director, having previously held similar roles at Tchibo Coffee International.
“I’ve always been an admirer of the Small Batch brand and know it’s a real gem in the Brighton coffee scene. I’m so proud to join a team that cares so deeply about the quality of its coffee offer and I’m excited about the growth project ahead. We will proactively work on both creativity and quality and look forward to strengthening relationships with like-minded roasters and hospitality businesses- working collaboratively to keep our industry growing,” Morrison said.
Additionally, Small Batch has appointed Dumo Mathema as Head of Coffee and Roastery. Mathema previously worked for The Department of Coffee and Ozone Coffee Roasters, and has also provided consultancy services for several roasteries.
Founded in 2006, Small Batch Coffee Roasters currently operates five coffee shops across Brighton & Hove in the south-east of the UK.
The group recently introduced its range of specialty coffee via wholesale channels and is seeking to diversify its sales to online subscribers.
Small Batch launched its app in October 2022.
