UK-based coffee chain Pret A Manger and JDE Professional France have launched their Pret Coffee Shop self-serve concept in France.

Targeting distribution across workplaces, universities and hospitals, as well as high footfall transport hubs, the self-serve stations offer more than 100 customisable hot beverages using the same Lincoln & York coffee beans used in Pret A Manger stores.

Pret A Manger opened its first store in France in Paris in 2012 and currently operates 45 stores across the country.

The company marked its entry into the premium self-serve coffee market via a JDE Peet’s partnership in October 2021.

In November 2022, the company announced plans to grow its Pret Express self-serve network in the UK to more than 50 sites.

Pret A Manger currently operates approximately 550 stores worldwide. In June 2022 the company announced it would launch the Pret brand across Spain and Portugal, with 70 Pret outlets expected to open in the ‘coming years’.

Additionally, Pret A Manger is in the process of opening approximately 15 stores across Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
