Chinese tea chain Heytea has opened its first store in the US, a market it says holds ‘extraordinary significance’ for its international growth.
Founded in Guangdong in 2012, Heytea currently operates 3,000 stores across China. The brand opened its first international store in Singapore in 2018 and has entered the UK, Australia, Canada and Malaysia within the last six months.
In a press release Heytea said its US debut, in the high footfall Midtown Broadway district of New York, offers a multitude of new opportunities and underscores the brand’s confidence in the US tea market.

Our goal is to drive an upgrade in the product landscape and continuously expand the space within the American tea drinks market,” said Yujia Gu, Vice President of Strategy, Heytea.
The tea chain sold a record 2,500 beverages on its opening day on 8 December, with its signature Very Grape Cheese (Original) and Roasted Brown Bobo Milk products among the bestselling products.
