US coffee chain Biggby Coffee is on track to reach 500 outlets by the end of 2024 and remains committed to its goal of reaching 1,000 stores by the end of 2028.

Founded in 1995, Biggby Coffee currently operates 361 outlets across 13 US states and has approximately 140 stores in development.

The Michigan-based coffee chain has signed 43 new franchise agreements this year and is seeking to ink another 100 before the end of 2023.

“Currently, we have 361 stores open and around another 140 in development for a total of close to 500. That 500 is a big deal because we have a goal to have 500 stores open by the end of 2024, and we still have a full 18 months to get those 140 that are in development through the pipeline,” said Tony DiPiero, Vice President of Emerging Market Development.

Biggby Coffee boosted its leadership team this year with Erin Kaylor appointed Chief Financial Officer to support the financial stability of its franchisee network.

World Coffee Portal research forecasts the total US branded coffee shop market will exceed 41,900 outlets in 2027.
