Milfoods LLC, Paulig’s former subsidiary in Russia, has begun producing coffee under the new Poetti brand.

Manufactured at Paulig’s former facility in Russia’s Tver region, the factory has the capacity to process over 25 million kgs of coffee per year.

A press release said Poetti plans to boost output, producing not only wholebean and ground coffee but also launching instant coffee products in 2023.

"The first packs of Poetti produced are an important milestone in the history of our enterprise. First off the conveyer belt was coffee blend Poetti Daily Classic Crema in a 1 kg pack loved by consumers and in demand, which it will be possible to buy in the main sales channels in September," said Sergei Yushin, Supply Chain Director, Milfoods LLC.

Finnish coffee, beverage and food supplier Paulig completed the sale of its business in Russia in May 2022, stating that trading in the country was ‘no longer viable’ following the invasion of Ukraine.

The company sold its Tver coffee roastery to private investor Vikas Soi who was appointed General Director of Milfoods LLC in June. Trademarks and formulas were not included in the transaction.
