UK-based Lavazza Professional has unveiled a new 24/7 self-service micro café concept for businesses across the UK.
The Moments by Lavazza Professional concept is designed to be ‘a hassle-free alternative to canteens’ which the company said will bring ‘the best elements of coffee culture into the workplace’.
Lavazza Professional cited research which indicates that 85% of employees feel that premium coffee offerings in the workplace increases productivity and improves morale. This, according to the vending company, makes it an important element of the post-pandemic workplace as businesses look to attract and retain talent.
The micro café consists of bean-to-cup coffee machines serving premium espresso-based drinks alongside smart fridges offering traditional vending food and cold beverages.
All products in the micro café can be purchased via unattended payment stations, a central kiosk or smartphone app.
“We are delighted to be bringing this new offer to market. Whether it is time spent getting to know new colleagues, collaborating on new ideas and projects, or quiet time preparing for a productive afternoon, every moment counts. By bringing the best elements of coffee culture into the workplace, businesses of all sizes can engage, and delight employees returning to the office and reap the rewards,” said Ashley Weller, UK Market Director, Lavazza Professional.
The on-the-go coffee and food vending market in Europe has benefited from a return to office working and the reopening of public spaces following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Swiss automated coffee and food operator Selecta reported
revenue growth of 15% in its second quarter of 2022 to reach €298.3m ($304m).
In July 2022 the company opened its first
Foodies-On-The Go concept for air travel at East Midlands Airport, UK. Similar to Moments by Lavazza Professional, the concept offers customers food and beverages using smart fridge technology, including self-serve hot beverages from Lavazza, Selecta’s coffee partner.
