Seven Miles Coffee Company (7MCC) has appointed Phil Restall as its new CEO after announcing that incumbent Jenny Willits will be stepping down from the role at the end of October 2022.
Restall recently served as Managing Director of Global Travel Retail at Beam Suntory where he is credited with successfully leading the alcoholic beverage company’s 10-year strategic vision and path to recovery following the pandemic.
“I am truly honoured to be following in Jenny’s footsteps and the opportunity to continue to build upon the legacy she’s created in partnership with her amazing team. I’ve always loved coffee so I couldn’t be prouder to lead this business during its next and most important phase,” he said.
Willits, who has served as CEO of Seven Miles Coffee Roasters since September 2017 and
umbrella organisation 7MCC since May 2022, will remain a consultant until January 2023 to aid the leadership transition as required.
Liverpool Partners, which acquired a majority stake in Seven Miles Coffee Roasters in September 2021, credited Willits with successfully leading the roaster’s growth and acquisition strategy and for implementing new capabilities to the business this year.
In June 2022 7MCC said it had completed its goal to become an end-to-end coffee solution business after adding technical services, training and sustainability capabilities through the creation of its new
Coffeesmith and Coffee Next divisions.
“I have been so proud to be the leader of this incredible business, to be a part of establishing what is a very special and unique culture, driven by its incredible, kind, and courageous people – they are simply the best. It’s most certainly exciting times for the business and I look forward to watching all the future success,” Willits said.
7MCC comprises the Seven Miles Coffee Roasters, Padre Coffee, Australian Beverage Corporation, Coffeesmith and Coffee Next brands.
