Krispy Kreme has launched its first Hot Light Theater shop in the Jordanian capital city Amman, alongside existing Middle East franchisee Americana Restaurants.
The Amman outlet, the first of four set to open in Jordan before the end of 2022, adds to Krispy Kreme’s 250 across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Egypt.
Americana Restaurants said the Amman outlet, which will serve both coffee and donuts, will also operate as a production hub for Krispy Kreme’s omnichannel strategy, which seeks to deliver fresh donuts to consumers across various retail channels.
“We’re delighted to have opened our first Krispy Kreme Hot Light Theater shop in Jordan, and the response from customers has been fantastic. Our Amman launch comes hot on the heels of the immense success in Egypt, where we have opened 13 stores since launching in August 2021. We are executing plans for a rapid scale-up, with an expectation that Krispy Kreme in Jordan will replicate the success it has enjoyed under Americana Restaurants’ stewardship across the Middle East,” said Amarpal Sandhu, CEO, Americana Restaurants.
Americana Restaurants is also the franchised partner for UK-based Costa Coffee in Jordan, as well as in Egypt and Kazakhstan. It operates 70 Costa Coffee locations across the three nations.
In August 2022, Americana Restaurants was announced as the franchise partner for US specialty coffee chain and roaster Peet’s Coffee, which will launch its first store in the Middle East in the UAE before the end of 2022.
In the wider food and beverage industry, the company manages more than 2,000 licensed stores of KFC, Pizza Hut, Hardees, TGI Fridays’ and Wimpy across the Middle East.
