UK bakery café chain Gail’s has opened its 100th site across the country, after ‘experimenting with a new format' for its latest store launch in East Sheen, London.
Gail’s, which was recognised as the Best Coffee Chain – UK & Ireland earlier this month at the European Coffee Awards, said the outlet prioritises the kitchen element of its bakery business, with limited seating initially planned for the store and food showcased on trollies rather than display cabinets.
Tom Molnar, Co-Founder and CEO of Gail’s, said the company is keen to continue ‘experimenting with new formats’ and ‘take advantage of different real estate opportunities’ in the UK market.
The East Sheen site follows recent openings in London’s Kensington Arcade and Bermondsey Street, as well as a store in Fleet, Hampshire. Gail’s also has outlets slated to open in Gerrards Cross, south Buckinghamshire, and East Dulwich in London.
In October 2022, Gail’s launched a new recruitment campaign promoting a healthy work-life balance for its staff. Titled ‘The Early Bird Never Works Late’, the campaign focuses on typical working hours at Gail’s which enable employees to start early and have time later in the day to spend with friends and family.
